Walsall Connected Annual Report - Year Four - Key accomplishments Year Four
- 14,432 total residents supported from July 2025 to June 2026. Of these residents, 69% built their confidence, enabling them to carry out the same process independently in the future
- 39 additional staff and volunteers received training to help them provide consistent, high-level support through Walsall Connected. Since launch, more than 350 people have been trained
- 51% of residents were supported with using and accessing digital services. This supports residents to embrace self-service, reducing the need to contact a Council service directly through traditional methods such as telephone. This freed up valuable time for specialist Council officers to focus on technical and specialist duties.
- In collaboration with the West Midlands Combined Authority, funding was secured to enhance health-related support and signposting offered by centres. This enabled promotion and digital support for MyPreOp, Healthy Start and BeWell, linked to 250 different interactions.
- Our service-user survey completed every month highlights the fantastic response rate that 96% of residents surveyed would recommend Walsall Connected to their family and friends. This showcases the valuable service residents receive at Walsall
- In partnership with WM5G we secured funding for 120 laptops for the Walsall Borough. This was used to support families linked to schools, provisions for support with adults with additional needs and youth provisions. We also supported young adults in the Council’s Young Persons Team support accommodation. This secured what would have cost £120,000 RRP of high-spec laptops.
