‘It’s all about keeping it clean and green and giving something back to the community’ – this was the message from two local businesses who recently got behind Volunteers’ Week
Walsall Council’s fight against illegal tobacco came to Darlaston yesterday on (06 June). Our Trading Standards and Public Health officers were joined by specialist tobacco sniffer dogs and their trainer to raise awareness of the risks of illegal tobacco and negative effects it has on health, local communities and economies.
Three Walsall based community organisations have been recognised for all that they do for the communities they serve as new recipients of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Manor Farm Community Association, Midland Langar Seva Society and Spotlight Youth Productions will be presented with their awards at a special ceremony at the Birmingham Hippodrome later this year.
