Walsall Connected Annual Report - Year Four - Annual Review Year Four priorities and next steps

Walsall Connected continued to provide high-quality support to residents accessing Council services online while strengthening partnerships across the borough and responding to the changing needs of local communities.

Building on the successes of Year Four, Walsall Connected will focus on the following key priorities in Year Five:

  1. Delivering a locality-based support and training model: Implementing an enhanced operational model that brings support and training closer to communities through a locality-based approach. This will enable Walsall Connected to work more closely with centres at a local level, better understand the unique challenges and opportunities within each locality, and provide tailored support, training and guidance that reflects local need.
  2. Strengthening community partnerships and service delivery: Continuing to develop strong relationships across the Walsall Connected network to ensure centres receive consistent, high-quality support. Through increased engagement, collaboration and sharing of best practice, centres will be supported to build their capacity to help residents, improve digital confidence, and access relevant information, resources and services.
  3. Reducing digital exclusion across Walsall: Working in partnership with organisations including the West Midlands Combined Authority, local services, community organisations and other stakeholders to further reduce digital exclusion across the borough. This includes supporting access to devices, connectivity, digital skills training and opportunities that enable residents to participate confidently in an increasingly digital world.
  4. Supporting prevention, early intervention and resident resilience: Using the Walsall Connected network to provide residents with easier access to information, advice, support and signposting services. By working with a broad range of partners, the programme will help residents address issues earlier, build resilience, improve wellbeing, and prevent, reduce or delay the need for more intensive statutory services.
