Rushall junction (A461) improvements: Information for consultation

Introduction

We are looking at ways to improve Rushall junction. This is where Lichfield Road, Station Road, Daw End Lane and Pelsall Lane meet.

Rushall junction is a busy part of Walsall’s road network. It connects:

  • Walsall town centre and the north of the borough
  • Bloxwich and Aldridge

It’s also the local centre for Rushall’s shops and facilities.

We know the junction has problems, especially at busy times. These include:

  • heavy traffic and long delays
  • some drivers running red lights
  • a lack of safe or easy places for people to cross the road

About this consultation

We are holding a non‑statutory public consultation. We want to share our current preferred design and ask for your views. While funding has not yet been confirmed, the council hopes to secure investment to support delivery of the proposals.

What we want to achieve

The aim of this scheme is to:

  • reduce traffic congestion
  • make it easier and safer for people to walk and cycle

The consultation aims are to:

  • tell you about our outline plans for the junction
  • understand how you feel about a scheme here
  • collect feedback on the design and any suggested changes
  • learn about any issues you want us to consider
