Compulsory Purchase Orders

Compulsory purchase powers enable public bodies, such as Walsall Council, to acquire land without the consent of the owner. They are an important tool, used as a means of acquiring the land needed to help deliver social, environmental and economic change in the borough.

Compulsory purchase orders are made in accordance with the guidance contained in the Compulsory Purchase Act 1965Acquisition of Land Act 1981, and Housing and Planning Act 2016.
