The Affordable Housing Need Model (HMA, Ch. 6) identifies a net annual affordable housing need of 217 homes per year (HMA, Table 6.1), which is 18.6% of the annual planned growth.

The affordable need is predominantly for Social Rent (approx. 75% of affordable tenure), with a smaller proportion for Shared Ownership and First Homes (HMA, Table 5.10, para 8.10).
