4 Week programmes 

Our 4-week pre-employability programmes arm candidates with level 1 certifications covering the health and safety, construction and the sustainability knowledge needed to get started on a career path within the industry.

This programme is in place for people looking to get started with a career in construction. 

On this course, successful candidates will achieve: 

  • Green Labourers CSCS Card 
  • 1 Week On-Site Practical Work Experience
  • Level 1 Health and Safety in a construction environment
  • First Steps into Construction 
  • Personal Wellbeing in Construction 
  • Introducing Environmental Awareness and Sustainability in Construction
  • Asbestos Awareness Certificate
  • Working at Height Awareness Certificate  
  • GUARANTEED JOB INTERVIEW

Programmes are completely FREE.

Candidates must attend the enrolment date. Individual course flyers are attached.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Aged 19+ (as of 31st Aug 2023)
  • West Midlands Home Postcode
  • Living in the UK for min. 3 years (Refugees exempt.)
  • Must be able to attain Entry Level 3 Maths & English BKSB – at the enrolment day.

Candidates will need:

  • Valid Photo ID (Passport, Driving/Provisional License, Citizens Card) 
  • National Insurance number  
  • Proof of universal credit or earnings below £30,000 per annum 
  • Proof of Address

Duration: 4-week programme

Civil Service SWAP is aimed at aspiring Public Servants, who are aged 19 and above.

This programme will empower learners with the essential knowledge and skills required to begin a career in the Civil Service.

Course Content:

  • Equality and Diversity
  • Virtual Interview preparation
  • Safeguarding and Prevent
  • What’s involved in the Recruitment Process
  • Success Profiles and preparing behaviour statements
  • Guidance and support to commence the application process
  • Guidance to understand and complete Situational Judgement Test

You will need access to a laptop or computer, with unlimited internet to join our video conferencing classes

Venue: Hawbush Campus, Beeches Road, Leamore, WS3 1AG

Course dates : 19 February 2024 till 5th March (9.45am – 2.45pm)

Information Day: 14 February 2024. At Walsall College, Hawbush Campus, 10am

Entry Requirements: Minimum Entry 3 English

Walsall College has a number of short courses taking place  to support anyone who is aged 19+, claiming benefits or on a low income to get back into work.

These courses are aimed at providing people with all the information and knowledge needed to work in specific areas, and have a guaranteed job interview attached to them.

Course Dates: 26 February 2024 until 8th March (9.30am – 2.30pm)

Information Day: 21 February 2024 at Walsall College Hawbush Campus at 10am
