Main duties and responsibilities | Promoting health and well-being of service users encouraging a healthy diet and regular exercise liaising with other professionals to support medical needs. Supporting service users to attend appointments with doctors, dentists, physiotherapists and all other professionals. Following local safeguarding procedures to prevent report and record any type of abuse. Supporting individuals to look after their homes, and live within the community by assisting to complete tasks such as cleaning, shopping, laundry, preparing and cooking meals and maintaining their home. Understanding how people communicate and encouraging appropriate communication. Showing respect for an individual’s age, gender, ethnic origin, religious and cultural background, encouraging choice and enabling empowerment. |
Knowledge, qualifications and experience | Completing in house, face to face training and e-learning training and any other training identified by your manager, including attending courses at different venues. Following company policies and procedures and acting in a professional manner at all times. Participate in staff meetings, supervisions and induction programme and resident meetings. Support service user to maintain financial records and adhere to realistic budgets. Administer medication as instructed in the company policy and additional local authority policies and complete raining with external pharmacists. To work within health and safety guidelines and participate in manual handling training. All staff commit to training towards a accredited QCF level 2 or above. |
