Job overviewTo enforce all on-street permitted parking regulations in all controlled zones, in accordance with the Traffic Management Act 2004
Main duties and responsibilities
  • To issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to vehicles found to be in contravention of the parking regulations. 
  • To record, report and take appropriate action on any defects found in street furniture, including signs and road markings. 
  • To attend, when necessary, adjudication hearings to give supporting information in connection with contested PCNs. 
  • Log your position manually in your Hand-Held Computer Terminal
  • Represent the Company and the Council by promoting good public relations, providing advice and information concerning parking related matters, to members of the public whenever asked, in a courteous and considerate manner. 
  • To use your radio and HHCT equipment in a proper manner in accordance with procedures and safeguard same from damage and misuse. 
  • To ensure beat patterns, if used, are followed as instructed by your Supervisor/Manager. 
  • To ensure any difficulties or problems occurring during the course of a normal working day are reported to your Senior CEO/Supervisor and to log all such reports in your pocketbook and if necessary, Incident Report Patrol and enforce parking regulations at nominated local authority car parks. 
  • As required assist in cash collection from car park machines To report for duty on time, wearing full uniform and be well groomed and of smart appearance. 

As requested, drive company vehicles on business in accordance with policy and procedure.

Knowledge, qualifications and experience
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Be willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills with good written and spoken English, clear and legible handwriting plus good arithmetic skills.
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Have evidence of working as part of a team as well as the ability to work away from a base location and manage their own work during the day.
  • Be of smart appearance, well-groomed with no offensive tattoos or facial piercings that would cause distress.

Main duties and responsibilities

This is a key leadership role within one of our energy recovery facilities, reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Maintenance Manager and wider site leadership team. 

You’ll lead the day-to-day operational management of the facility, owning operational performance, plant availability, safety, environmental compliance, and the leadership and development of your operations function. You’ll be accountable for driving operational excellence, meeting and exceeding OEE and KPI targets.

Knowledge, qualifications and experience
  • Mechanical degree/diploma/certificate (ideally Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering) or equivalent technical/operational experience. 
  • Senior-level operations experience with at least 5 years’ supervisory experience in power generation, processing plant, specialty chemical or similarly regulated industrial environments. 
  • Strong supervisory background across multiple disciplines and operational support activities. 
  • Strong practical knowledge of industrial safety, including Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work. 
  • Proven experience recruiting, developing and training multidisciplinary teams. Strong capability managing operational and capital budgets with performance and cost control. 
  • Experience writing/coordinating operating, emergency and safety procedures with full compliance focus. 
  • Experience producing production/operational performance reports and using reporting tools (incl. MS Office). 
  • Track record of managing regulatory relationships (e.g., Environment Agency, HSE).
