Job overviewSam’s Auto Services is seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic to join our established team in Aldridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong mechanical knowledge who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they remain safe and fully operational.
Main duties and responsibilities
  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance across all makes and models of vehicles, including MOT repairs 
  • Diagnose mechanical faults accurately and complete repairs using appropriate tools and techniques 
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively in line with industry standards 
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of all work undertaken, including parts used and repairs completed 
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment or machinery as required 
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to minimise vehicle downtime and ensure efficient workshop operations 
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
Knowledge, qualifications and experience
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential 
  • A minimum of 3.5 to 4 years’ experience in a mechanical role 
  • City & Guilds Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or higher)
  • Proven experience working as a mechanic or in a similar position
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and mechanical components
  • Competent in using a range of hand and power tools 
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail 
  • Well organised, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary£25,000 per annum, with the potential for a higher salary depending on experience
Working hours

40 hours per week 

  • Monday to Friday: 9am to 5:30pm

Main duties and responsibilities

As a Entry Level Electrical Vehicle Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll begin your career within one of the UK’s most respected defence, aerospace, and engineering organisations. This is an exciting opportunity to learn how to install, integrate, and maintain enhanced electrical systems in specialist vehicles used by the Police, Fire, and Ambulance services. Your work will help ensure these vehicles operate reliably in critical situations, supporting public safety across the UK.

Day to day you’ll be required to:

  • Fit, repair, install, and integrate electrical and electronic systems in motor vehicles
  • Follow safety procedures and quality standards to ensure reliable vehicle performance
  • Carry out fault finding and rectification on vehicle electrical systems
  • Support the design and development of electrical solutions for specialist vehicles
  • Work closely with experienced technicians and engineers to build your skills

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

Knowledge, qualifications and experience

Essential experience of the Entry Level Electrical Vehicle Technician:

  • No prior experience required
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn technical skills

Qualifications for the Entry Level Electrical Vehicle Technician:

Job overviewBonner Studs Ltd are a family run engineering business located in Walsall with over 100 years in business. We produce high quality engineering studs for a range of industries across the UK and globally.
Main duties and responsibilitiesMachine Operators are responsible for threading engineering studs. All threading is carried out by hand using manual threading machines. They work closely with our Tool Setters to identify orders in production and ensure machines are set up for all orders. Operators will work to specification set on Production Cards and carry out quality checks on parts to ensure specifications are met.
•Operating manual threading machines to produce engineering studs
•Planning and processing jobs in line with customer delivery dates, taking into account  machine set-up requirements.
•Working with Tool Setters to ensure machines are set up and calibrated correctly.
•Adhering to Health and Safety guidelines.
•Checking off work with the quality department to ensure work is correct.
•Helping out on other sections as required.

•Strong planning and organisational skills.
•An ability to work flexibly to customer demands which could lead to quick turnaround times.

•Ideally some experience of machine operating and/or working in a factory environment.
