Litter picking groups and events

We have a community of litter pickers all over Walsall borough.

Upcoming events

You can join our Walsall Community Litter Watch Facebook group to meet likeminded people, find out about regular and special events, and share your experiences.

Running a litter picking event

If you're an event organiser, you'll be responsible for a few things before and after your event. You should:

  • choose the date, time and location of your litter pick (tell us too, so we can share details on the Walsall Community Litter Watch Facebook group)
  • do a risk assessment
  • give your group a health and safety talk
  • arrange the collection of litter picked bags:
    • leave your bags by a Walsall Council street bin, and they will be collected every other week day, or
    • leave your bags somewhere that doesn't block the path (if there's no bin nearby), and fill in our street cleaning report form to let us know the location and number of bags.

You can find risk assessment guidance and more information on our our step-by-step guide to becoming a volunteer litter picker page.
