Lichfield Street Hub

About us

Lichfield Street Hub is a single leisure, cultural and learning hub. It incorporates the central library, the local history centre and archive collections of Walsall Council, a coffee shop and ICT lounge. 

The grade II listed building was remodelled and brought back to its former glory with many original features restored.

Our libraries offer an open door to information, reading, imagination, learning and culture - enhancing people's lives and supporting the growth and health of our community.

Late opening Thursdays due to staff training

The library will open at 10am on the following dates:

• 7 September
• 5 October
• 2 November 
• 30 November

You'll be able to access our services in our other community libraries from 8.30am on these dates.

Library facilities

Lichfield Street Hub can help with any requests that you have for reading and research materials but we also think it is important this information is available to you all the time. From information, learning and leisure needs, we have a wide range of library services.

Walsall archives

Do you need help with your homework project or tracing your family history? Are you writing a business plan and need market research? Or are you trying to find a newspaper article? We subscribe to a wide range of resources to help you.

Room hire

Lichfield Street Hub has many rooms available for hire. If you are looking to hold an event or activity, appointment with a client, private study session, exhibition or workshop, why not book a room with us?

Coffee shop

At Lichfield Street Hub, we wanted to create a place filled with books, fun and friends. Therefore, we decided that the perfect way to do this would be to introduce our coffee shop in the library where all our members could enjoy a drink and some company as much as the books they borrow.
