Housing renewal assistance policy 2026 - 2030: 1. Introduction - 6. Types of assistance
The following types of assistance and initiatives are available under this policy. The assistance listed below will only be provided if funding is available:
- Mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG),
- Discretionary Adaptation Grants including:
- Low cost Early Prevention grants
- Handyperson Service,
- Hospital discharge scheme
- Walsall Society for Blind referral scheme
- Inflationary allowance Awards above the mandatory DFG limit,
- Exceptional top-up’ assistance above the mandatory DFG limit
- Relocation grants / assistance,
- Support for those covered by the Walsall Armed Forces Covenant
- Health Through Warmth grant. This is a limited Council fund assisting vulnerable residents with insulation and central heating works.
