Corporate social responsibility (CSR)
Why CSR works for you
There is growing evidence to suggest that the benefits of undertaking CSR far outweigh any concerns over financial performance. Committing to voluntary work in the community benefits staff as well as residents. It can do wonders for staff morale and, as a consequence, productivity.
“ It's not all about the bottom line: companies who give back can have better staff loyalty, engagement and productivity “
How you can get involved
You and your workforce have transferable skills that could benefit Walsall's community and voluntary sector. We're planning a series of workshops that you could either support or deliver. Themes include:
- ICT
- GDPR
- capital assets
- legal
- finance

- marketing
This kind of information can be invaluable to a small charity, and your time and expertise could make a huge difference.

Get involved in environmental activities
Litter picking
A litter pick is a simple and effective way to make a difference in your community.
Find out more about corporate support and sponsorship and get your business involved with keeping your local area tidy.
Visit our community litter picking Facebook page to find out how and where you can get involved.
Support our parks
Our parks provide opportunities for play and relaxation and businesses can play a vital role in supporting them.
For example, the team at Wesleyan got involved in tree planting, and their story was covered by the Express & Star.
Other projects include the restoration of the community garden at Walsall Arboretum, and enhancement of the wetland area at Palfrey Park.
Visit our corporate sponsorshop page to find out more about the environmental, ethical and philanthropic ways you can support Walsall's parks, or email the Healthy Spaces Team.
Tell us what your company is doing
Walsall Economic Board is beginning to map current and planned CSR work. This is so we can provide a strategic lead to reduce duplication, and ensure the widest possible benefits within the borough.
If your company is engaged in CSR work, we’d love to hear from you. You can email us EconomicBoard@walsall.gov.uk, and you can promote your efforts using the hashtag #WalsallCSR
