Stephenson Avenue Road Safety Scheme
Walsall Council has responsibility for road safety. We review road collisions involving injury on an annual basis. Stephenson Avenue between Bloxwich Lane and Cavendish Road has been identified as a poor performing route with increasing public anxiety regarding road safety and inappropriate vehicle speeds. There have been 4 recorded collisions resulting in injury in a 3 year period with 2 being serious.
Proposals have been drawn up and designed to improve pedestrian safety and reduce vehicle speeds on Stephenson Avenue. It is proposed that road safety measures in the form of road humps and speed cushions are introduced along Stephenson Avenue.
