Rushall junction (A461) improvement consultation
Overview
We are looking at ways to improve Rushall junction. This is where Lichfield Road, Station Road, Daw End Lane and Pelsall Lane meet.
Rushall junction is a busy part of Walsall’s road network. It connects:
- Walsall town centre to the north of the borough and Lichfield
- Bloxwich and Aldridge
It's also the local centre for Rushall's shops and facilities.
We know the junction has problems, especially at busy times. These include:
- heavy traffic and long delays
- some drivers running red lights
- a lack of safe or easy places for people to cross the road
About this consultation
We are holding a non-statutory public consultation. Although funding has not yet been confirmed, we hope to secure investment to deliver the proposals. We want to share our current preferred design and ask for your views. We'll review all feedback alongside other information and use it to inform the next stage of development.
What we want to achieve
The aim of this scheme is to:
- reduce the number of traffic collisions
- reduce traffic congestion
- make it easier and safer for people to walk and cycle
The consultation aims are to:
- tell you about our outline plans for the junction
- understand how you feel about a scheme here
- collect feedback on the design and any suggested changes
- learn about any issues you want us to consider
Have your say
The consultation is open from 23 February to 16 March 2026.
We want to hear from residents, local businesses, and anyone who uses Rushall junction.
You can have your say online:
If you need an alternative format or need support to have your say, speak to a member of staff at your local Walsall Connected centre at libraries and community locations all over the borough. You can also pick up a paper copy from your local library.
