Rough sleeping is when you sleep outside or in places not intended for living in.
How can we help
If you’re sleeping rough, you can contact us.
We give day-to-day support, and will help you to:
- access housing
- keep your tenancy
- claim the benefits you’re entitled to
- access employment and education
What to do in severe weather
During extreme weather, we may be able to get you somewhere safe to sleep. Contact us to access this service.
Other ways to get help if you’re sleeping rough
You can submit an alert for yourself via Streetlink. They will connect you to local support.
Street Support Network Walsall is a directory of local services that can help you.
We also work with Housing First. They can:
- help you find somewhere to live
- help you rebuild your life if you’ve got health and social needs
- provide support that works for you
It doesn’t place any conditions on you, but you should want a tenancy.

How to help a rough sleeper in your area
If someone needs urgent medical help or is under 18, call 999.
If you see someone sleeping rough and want to help, you can alert us via Streetlink. StreetLink connects people who are rough sleeping to local support.
You can donate to Change Into Action. All donations fund projects that support rough sleepers and homeless people in Walsall borough.
Street Support Network Walsall has details about how to volunteer and donate money, food or items to help people who are homeless.
