Household Support Fund

Funded by UK Government logo

Councils across the country have been provided with funding through the Household Support Scheme. This is to support households on a low income with food and utilities whilst the cost of living is increasing.

The Government has extended funding for a further six months until April 2025. This will be used to support households struggling with bills and essential costs over the winter.

If you’re eligible for a direct payment

You don’t need to make an application if you're eligible for a direct payment. You’ll get a direct payment of £75 per child automatically if:

  • your family has children included in the household, and
  • you were in receipt of council tax reduction (CTR) on 1 December 2024

When you'll get your direct payment

Direct payments will be issued in mid-December 2024.

We’ll pay this straight into your bank account. You don't need to contact us unless your bank details have changed since your last payment.
