Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

As the local planning authority, we must explain how we involve the community in decision making. By law we must prepare a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).

It sets out how we want to involve our communities, organisations and other interested parties when:

  • we prepare our planning policies
  • we make decisions on planning applications

We will use different ways to work with you so that everyone can be well informed.

You can read the revised SCI cabinet report on the CMIS webpages.

Consultations

Consultations are our way of asking you your opinions on development plans for the borough. You can engage by attending an in-person event at venues around Walsall, or by submitting a consultation response in-post or online.

Consultations are open to all Walsall residents, community groups, business owners and other groups with a particular interest in heritage, ecology, infrastructure, transport, health, education and more.
