Blackwood Park
The site is a remnant of the historic Foley Wood. Today, the park combines woodland and play areas.
Blackwood Park has a Green Flag award, and there's active friends group on Facebook and Twitter.

Accessibility
The park has hard, flat tarmac-surfaced paths and some accessible walking trails. All pathways are at least 1100mm wide and many pathways are 1500 to 2000mm wide to allow for turning.
There are 11 benches around the site for rest if required. All facilities are close to the paths for easy access.
Doorways and gates to facilities such as tennis court and play area are wheelchair accessible. Doors to the pavilion are wide enough for wheelchair access.
The pavilion has a wheelchair-accessible toilet (at least 2.2m x 1.5m). It has:
- an outward-opening door
- corner layout with grab rails
- higher level pan (480mm from floor to rim)
It is is accessible with a left hand transfer using a drop rail. The wash basin includes lever tap, clothes hooks and an easily-accessible emergency pull cord.
Wheelchair-accessible gym
The outdoor gym is close to the tarmac path for easy access. It has specific wheelchair-accessible equipment:
- seatless arm and pedal bike
- seatless chest press
- seatless lat’ pulldown
Sports pitches and equipment

Getting to Blackwood Park
Several bus companies run services that will take you near to the park including National Express West Midlands and Diamond. Bus stops can be found on Blackwood Road - Buses 77 and 77A, or Lowlands Avenue and Hazlewood Road - Bus 78.
There is no car park on site. We recommend you drop passengers off at the Cedar Drive entrance.
