Shire Oak Park Local Nature Reserve

Shire Oak Park is a dedicated Local Nature Reserve (LNR). The meadow is only cut once a year, which means that the seeds from plants have a chance to grow.

The pool at Shire Oak is home to fish, frogs, toads and dragonflies. During spring and summer, the area is home to the willow warbler. This special bird will nest in the trees of Shire Oak until the autumn, when it will return to central Africa.

The site is great for dog walking, looking for mammal tracks and signs, and horse riding. There is also a play area on site.
