Walsall Council hosts Blue Badge application support sessions

Walsall Council is holding a series of fortnightly face-to-face Blue Badge application support sessions in the New Year to assist residents in completing the application process. The sessions, hosted by the Walsall Connected team, will be held at Lichfield Street Hub Library on Monday 6 and 20 January 2025, Monday 3 and 17 February 2025, and Monday 3 and 17 March 2025.
Residents can book their face-to-face Blue Badge application support session by calling 01922 653121.
“ We understand that the Blue Badge application process can be daunting for some residents. Our goal is to provide the support our residents need to successfully apply for a Blue Badge if eligible. These sessions are part of our ongoing commitment to making council services accessible and user-friendly. “
At the face-to-face sessions, applicants will need to bring along a recent digital photo showing their head and shoulders, proof of identity (such as a birth certificate, passport or driving licence) and proof of benefits, if applicable. They will also need their national Insurance number and details of their current Blue Badge, if reapplying.
The Blue Badge scheme ensures people with disabilities can park closer to their destination. This can be a vital lifeline for those who struggle with mobility, enabling greater independence and participation in community life.
