Walsall Connected launches through Community Partners across the Borough
Published on
On Wednesday 19 October 2022 at 10am, Walsall Council launches Walsall Connected at the Stan Ball Centre in Bloxwich.
The event is open for drop ins to enable people to learn more about the service, with an official ribbon cutting at 12pm.
Walsall Connected is a new Council initiative offering face-to-face support to help Walsall residents to access online services and learn valuable digital skills. The programme first launched in Walsall libraries in September and is open for residents to access free of charge in their preferred location.
The launch event officially welcomes the 18 Community Partners that will be delivering Walsall Connected services to residents alongside 7 libraries.
“ Following the successful launch of Walsall Connected in our libraries, I am excited to see the programme rolling out across local Community Partners.
In this digital age it is vital we give residents the tools and support needed to help them gain digital skills and increase their confidence in accessing services online. This programme aims to ensure that no one falls through the cracks and gets left behind.
In our residents’ survey, overwhelmingly people said they wanted somewhere where they could go and learn digital skills so they could access online services independently so that is what we are providing.
We now have 18 Community Partners on board ready to deliver the service to residents in convenient locations within the community and I am looking forward to the official launch. “
