Published on

Walsall Council is opening registration for the winter session of its successful holiday activity and food (HAF) programme from Monday 27 November 2023.

The programme is available free of charge to children and young people aged from 5 to 16 years, who are eligible for free school meals.

The winter session will take place from Tuesday 2 January 2024 to Friday 5 January 2024. During the week, participants are provided with a healthy meal every day and have the opportunity to take part in fun activities, learn and develop new skills, and make new friends.

“ Once again, we are pleased to be able to deliver an exciting winter holiday activity and food programme. I’d like to encourage all eligible families to register and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity for their children.

Walsall Council works with over 70 providers, and I’d like to thank current and new providers and venues for working with us to help put together a fun-filled programme. We’ve had some great feedback from previous programmes, and we are looking forward to welcoming children to the next session. “

Councillor Stacie Elson, Portfolio Holder for Children
Walsall Council

Registration and bookings can be made online on the Walsall Council website or by telephoning the HAF helpline on 01922 653899.

Face-to-face support for anyone who needs help to access online council services is available at Walsall Connected centres and there are now 28 sites across the borough, conveniently located in the heart of local communities.

In 2023, Walsall Council was awarded £1.8 million from Department for Education funding to deliver the HAF programme in 2023. Further information and updates are available on the council website and on Facebook and X, formerly known as Twitter.
