More than 350 children and young people dedicated their time to take part in the Great British Spring Clean.

The national litter-picking campaign urges people to get out and litter-pick, promoting pride in local areas.
This year, pupils from Walsall Academy, Pelsall Village School, New Invention Learning Academy, Walsall College, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Wood Bank Academy, Leamore Primary School, Butts Primary School, Park Hall Junior Academy, Shire Oak Academy and Blue Coat Academy all took part.
In total, 1,750 bags of rubbish were collected from Walsall streets by litter-picking groups, including those at schools, across two weeks.
“ The Great British Spring Clean campaign aligned with our council priority of promoting pride in the borough.
“Our young people have really embodied this with their effort, and I can’t thank all those involved enough.
“Young people are our future, so it is great to see them taking pride in their area with such great work.
“
The Great British Spring Clean saw more than 33 organised events in Walsall. This started in the town centre where council staff joined forces to collect 87 bags of rubbish.
Walsall Council is encouraging more residents to step forward and have an impact. The authority can provide hi-vis jackets, litter pickers, gloves and bags.
