Working with over 70 providers across the borough, the programme offers young people, fun, locally-based activities, while providing the opportunity for learning and developing new skills.

The HAF programme is delivered one week over the Easter break, four weeks during the summer holidays and a week over Christmas holidays and is aimed at children and young people aged 5-16.

During the Winter 2023 programme, children enjoyed a whole host of activities such as: winter holiday camps, sports, horse riding, gymnastics, computing coding and performing arts.

“ HAF enables my ten-year-old to get out more during the school holidays and enables him to make new friends and meet new people. It gives me peace of mind knowing he is safe, having fun and having something good to eat while away from home.

I think it is great to have the opportunity to take part in a variety of different activities. “

Gartmore Riding School hosted riding sessions during the programme. A spokesperson from the school said,

“ We’re so pleased to receive positive feedback from parents and children about our sessions.

It shows what can happen when we can work together with Walsall Right 4 Children and the HAF team, to offer this kind of opportunity for young people in Walsall.

It has enabled families to come together to share the benefits of being outdoors “

“ It’s great to see the HAF programme continue to be such a success in Walsall.

We work with some amazing providers to put on activities which children love, and it’s lovely to hear this feedback from providers, parents, and children themselves.

Well done to the HAF team for delivering another successful week of activities for children in the borough.

Nearer to the Easter holidays, we’ll be releasing information about how to book onto the next set of activities. “
