Free cycling education sessions in Walsall this Easter

Published on

Walsall Council’s road safety team are hosting free Bikeability sessions during the Easter holidays.

Bikeability - children cycling with instructor in the country side

Bikeability is a scheme designed to help children, young people and adults develop essential cycling skills and confidence.

The scheme is delivered by the council, in partnership with Active Travel England and Bikeability.org.uk.

Two weeks of sessions will be delivered starting from Monday 14 April 2025, for two different age groups and abilities:

  • Learn to Ride at Walsall Arboretum: This session is open to anyone over 4 years old and is perfect for beginners who want to learn how to ride a bike.
  • Level 1 & 2 Bikeability at Oak Park Active Living Centre: This session is tailored for individuals over 10 years old who wish to enhance their cycling skills and safety awareness.

“ Cycling is a brilliant way for children to get active, and these sessions are perfect for those children who want to either learn how to ride, or build some confidence when it comes to road safety.

Our road safety officers lead the sessions and are on hand to provide help for children and young people of all abilities. The sessions are free to attend, and all you need to bring along is your bike and helmet, so get booked on, and enjoy the ride this Easter! “
