Free Bikeability sessions this Summer in Walsall
Published on
Walsall Council’s road safety team is offering free cycling education during the Summer holidays.

Bikeability is a scheme designed to help children, young people and adults develop essential cycling skills and confidence.
The scheme is delivered by the council, in partnership with Active Travel England and Bikeability.org.uk.
Four weeks of sessions will be delivered starting from Monday 28 July 2025, for two different age groups and abilities:
- Learn to Ride at Walsall Arboretum: This session is open to anyone over 7 years old and is perfect for beginners who want to learn how to ride a bike.
- Level 1 & 2 Bikeability at Oak Park Active Living Centre: This session is tailored for individuals over 10 years old who wish to enhance their cycling skills and safety awareness.
“ Encouraging children to embrace cycling is a fantastic way to promote physical activity.
These sessions are ideal for youngsters who are either learning to ride or looking to boost their road safety skills.
Led by our dedicated road safety officers, these sessions cater to children and young people of all skill levels. Best of all, they are free to attend. Just bring your bike and helmet, and enjoy learning to ride in the sunshine.
“
Spaces are limited, so early booking is essential. To find out more information and to secure a spot in one of our sessions, please email bikeability@walsall.gov.uk.
