ECO4 Flex support to make your home more energy efficient

Energy company obligation flexibility scheme (ECO Flex) funding is available if you:

• own the home you live in
• rent from a private landlord

Social and local authority housing is not included.

Funding may be used for:

• insulating cavity, solid or internal walls
• replacing inefficient heating
• loft insulation
• underfloor insulation

Eligibility

You could be eligible to get funding if:

• your household income is below £31,000 per year, and
• your home is hard to heat or you are vulnerable to cold

LA Flex (local authority flexible eligibility) means that we can set our own eligibility criteria. You may be able to apply even if you don’t receive qualifying benefits. The full eligibility criteria are in our ECO Flex statement of intent.

How to get started

A contractor may get in touch with you directly, or you can contact an approved contractor yourself. Beware of scammers who will claim to work for Walsall Council and then charge you. Our approved contractors are:

What happens next

The contractor will do an assessment of your property to see if you qualify for support. They will make the decision, and they’ll let us know. 

The funding for the work will come from Ofgem. They will pay the contractor directly.

If you have any questions or concerns about the work, you should talk to the contractor or Ofgem. Walsall Council will not be able to help if there are any problems as this is an external scheme.
