Social housing
Walsall Council doesn’t own any council houses. There are two housing associations in Walsall that own and/or manage social housing:
- Walsall Housing Group (WHG)
- WATMOS Housing Co-operative (WATMOS)
There are also other providers who have homes in the borough. Find out about them in the booklet below:

Find out if you're eligible for social housing
You can check for eligibility on each housing association's website. Eligibility is decided using a points based system. Points can be given for:
- medical/mobility problems
- overcrowding
- lack of basic facilities
- social factors
How to apply
You can:
- apply to each housing association directly
- ask for an application form, or
- complete the registration of interest form in our "Access to Housing" booklet
Adapted housing
If you have a disability or impairment and need an adapted social housing property, register on the waiting list of the housing associations operating in Walsall.
Move home using HomeSwapper
If you live in social housing, you can swap homes via HomeSwapper. This is also called mutual exchange.
Register on the HomeSwapper website.
HomeSwapper is a web-based service, so you will need access to the internet. If you do not have the internet at home, you can book computer time in most Walsall libraries.
