Elective Home Education Service

The EHE service identifies and records compulsory school aged children who are home educated and makes enquiries as to whether that education satisfies legal requirements. Early intervention is provided to act as an advocate for the child and to ensure the child is in the most appropriate provision. Where possible, the EHE service establishes positive relationships with home educating parents to offer the appropriate support. The EHE service contacts home educating parents at least on an annual basis in order to reasonably inform itself of the current suitability of the education provided.
