Participation in society
We want you to have the chances that all young adults have, feel part of a community and be proud of where you live.
Sharing your views
Your views and experiences are important. We want you to be able to share them with us to make things better in the future.
The Children in Care Council and Care Leaver Group offers:
- volunteering opportunities
- support
- the chance to meet other young people with similar experiences
Local electoral register
Your personal adviser will help you to enrol on the local electoral register. Using your vote means you can have a say on issues that impact you and your community.
If you live in Walsall you can register to vote online.
Advocacy
We encourage you to get involved in shaping services. By challenging the barriers you face as a care leaver, you can make sure your voice is heard.
We can help you to access the Advocacy Service or contact the Coram Advocacy Service. These services are independent of the council.
Keeping in touch with us

We encourage you to take up the opportunities on offer and make the most of the advice, information and support that is available to you.
