The Town Deal is part of the Towns Fund. It’s an agreement in principle between government, the council and the Town Deal Board. It sets out a vision and strategy for the towns, together with what each party agrees to do to achieve this vision.

You can find details about the process in the government’s further guidance document.

This includes:

  • what to include in a Town Investment Plan
  • when and how key decisions are made
  • when funds are released
