Citizenship Ceremonies

COVID-19 update

Citizenship ceremonies are continuing to be held in line with public health guidance; travel and gathering for a citizenship ceremony is permitted for the prospective citizen during national restrictions as there is a legal obligation for them to attend.

For the period of the national restrictions, only those who are required to attend the ceremony will be permitted to do so. The limit on numbers has been determined by risk assessments and guests of the prospective citizens will not be permitted.

Virtual ceremonies are also available where applicants are unable to attend in person.

New citizens will receive a letter from the Home Office informing them that they have been granted British Citizenship. At the same time the Home Office will send us your naturalization certificate. When we have received your certificate we will write to you offering a ceremony date.
