Our sites

Before you visit a household waste recycling centre

Here’s what you need to know before you visit either of our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs).

You must live in Walsall

You must be a Walsall resident to use our HWRCs.

Bring proof of your address when you visit. This could be a:

photocard driving licence
Council Tax letter
recent utility bill

Arrive in a vehicle

You cannot walk into either site with waste. Pedestrians are not allowed on site.

Business and commercial waste

You cannot dispose of business, trade or commercial waste through the household waste service.

You may be refused entry if site staff believe you are bringing business or commercial waste.

Vehicle restrictions

Not all types of vehicles can use our Household Waste Recycling Centres.

Vans and trailers (including bookings for vans and trailers)

You must book before bringing a van or trailer to a Walsall HWRC. You can visit only one site with a van or trailer each calendar month. Visits are free, but you must book in advance. We can't accept same-day bookings.

There is a weight limit of 2.5 tonnes gross for vans and pick-ups, this means the weight of the vehicle and the waste together should be no more than 2.5 tonnes. Large commercial type trailers will not be admitted.

Long wheel base vehicles

We can't accept any vehicles longer than 6 metres in length. Due to their size, these vehicles cause congestion and delays for other users by blocking off bays while unloading. We also have to consider health and safety issues for our staff and other vehicles from these larger vehicles manoeuvring on site.

People carriers and 4X4s

There are no restrictions on bringing domestic waste to our HWRCs in large domestic vehicles such as 4×4s and people carriers. Larger vehicles which have been adapted to make them wheelchair accessible (WAVs) will be accepted.
