Registering for and viewing online letters
You can register to view your Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction entitlement letters online. Each time an entitlement letter is produced you will receive an e-mail informing you of new content. All letters produced after you register will be available for you to view at anytime and you can quickly check your latest entitlement without the need to contact us. You will not be issued paper copies.

Discretionary Housing Payment
Discretionary Housing Payments can provide extra financial assistance to people experiencing financial hardship or those at risk of losing their home. This could be to temporarily meet a shortfall in your rent, perhaps due to the effect of Welfare Reforms such as the Benefit Cap or Local Housing Allowance restrictions. It can also be considered for assistance towards a rent deposit or rent in advance if you need to move house.
In order to be considered for a Discretionary Housing payment you MUST be in receipt of either Housing Benefit or the Housing Element of Universal Credit.

Making a claim for Universal Credit
For many people looking for assistance with rental costs a Universal Credit claim will need to be made with the Department for Work and Pensions. In order to make this claim you will need a valid e-mail address.

Viewing your Council Tax / Business Rates account
You can register to view your Council Tax / Business Rates account online. By signing up you will be able to quickly view account information, balances, instalments due and receive e-billing, you will not receive a paper bill. You can sign up for direct debit payments, check that you are receiving any relevant discount and view information relating to any Housing Benefit claim you may have without the need to contact us.
