Walsall is a large industrial town in the Black Country which is famously known for its leather trade. The town’s built up area has a population of 67,594 with the wider borough having a population of 269,323 (2011 census).​​​

The following 2007 to 2013 ERDF investments have taken place in Walsall:

  • Walsall Council, Black Country Business Property Investment Programme (BCBPIP) (ERDF contribution of £420,297). 
  • Steps to Work, Walsall Ltd, Walsall Multi Agency One Stop Shop (ERDF contribution of £926,425).
  • Walsall Council, Black Country Technical Assistance Team (ERDF contribution of £205,176).
