Schools Sharing Protocol

The council, educational establishments and our partners such as Police within the local authority frequently need to share personal information on a daily basis in order to appropriately carry out our functions and meet our obligations.

The current data protection legislation requires us all to have appropriate agreements in place when sharing information and as such there is the potential for each of us to have multiple agreements which we need to review and monitor. In order to alleviate the administrative burden we have drafted an Information Sharing Protocol as an overarching agreement for all Walsall schools.

This protocol is designed to make sure we are all operating on a set of principles and obligations to which all signatories have agreed. We are asking you to sign up to this protocol to implement and adhere to the required processing of data under the data protection regulations with Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council and other education and learning providers and our partners within the Walsall Borough.
