Apply for a scaffolding permit

You must have a permit before you can put up scaffolding or hoarding on a road, pavement or verge.

You'll need to tell us:

  • what works you intend to do
  • how long the work will take
  • the dimensions of any structure to be erected
  • that you agree to our safety conditions

We will need at least five days to process your request.

Send your application back to us by email or post it to the traffic management and coordination team. Include copies of:

  • the main contractor's public liability certificate
  • method statement
  • risk assessment

How to pay your fee

When we have received and assessed your application, we will send you an email to confirm your fee. You can then contact our admin team to pay by card over the phone.
