How to pay your planning fee
There are three ways to pay your planning fee:
- online, using the Planning Portal (as part of your application)
- online direct to Walsall Council
- by card, over the phone
How to pay all other fees and charges
You’ll need to pay by card over the phone for:
- pre-application advice
- development team advice
- do I need planning permission advice
- scanning charges
- archived documents
- site history search
- tree works
- planning obligation charges
Make sure you have a payment card ready, and the following information:
- the name and reference code of the service you’re paying for (you’ll find this in the list of charges document at the top of the page)
- the site address/reference number of the request
- how much you’re paying

Monday to Thursday: 8.45am - 5.15pm
Friday: 8.45am - 4.45pm
You can call outside these hours in an emergency. You will be transferred to the emergency out of hours team.
