Competent Person Scheme

Competent Person Schemes allow individuals and businesses to self-certify that their work complies with Building Regulations. Through their scheme they can issue you with a certificate of compliance. 

Competent Person Schemes cover the following work:

  • replacement windows
  • electrical installations
  • cavity wall insulation
  • installation of gas, oil fired or solid fuel burning appliances
  • replacement roof coverings

Register with a competent person scheme

To register, choose a scheme that supports your trade or types of work. Schemes have different application processes, rules and fees.
