Arrange a site inspection

All building work needs to be inspected to ensure it complies with building regulations. Make sure you know when to book a site inspection.

When do building control inspections take place?

Site inspections depend on the type of work taking place. We will review your building control application and send you a site-specific risk assessment by post or email. Types of work we may inspect, include: 

  • excavations 
  • drainage 
  • damp proof course and oversite preparation 
  • pre-plaster 
  • completion 

Request a site inspection 

You must have a current application with building control for your work to be inspected. Provide the following information when requesting a site inspection: 

  • site location 
  • contact telephone number 
  • application number 
  • the type of inspection you need, and your preferred date 

You can do this by: 

Inspections booked before 3.00 pm can be arranged the next working day. To find out your two hour time slot, call us between 4.00pm and 5.00pm on the working day prior to your inspection.
