Pest control

Due to the current COVID-19 national emergency the Council’s routine Pest Control service was suspended.  On 27th July 2020 the Council will resume a limited service to treat the outside of properties.  The indoor Pest Control service will remain suspended until further notice.  Bookings for the outdoor service are only permitted if the customer is able to provide external access to an area requiring treatment.  Under no circumstances will Pest Control Officers enter properties, including garages, to provide indoor treatments or to gain access to outdoor areas.  Bookings for this service can be made from 24th July 2020


If you have concerns or need advice about Pest Control issues please email stating your name, contact number, and a brief description of your enquiry.  A Pest Control Officer will contact you and respond to your enquiry.


Domestic and commercial pest control services

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are currently unable to provide pest control appointments. If you are concerned about a pest control issue or need advice about pest control please email stating your name, contact number, and a brief description of your enquiry and one of our specialist pest control officers will be in touch.

Sightings of rats

Where a severe infestation of rats is sighted on public land, we aim to ensure the rats are destroyed.  Please email us at and provide you name, contact details and as much information as possible about the location of any sightings.

Food businesses

If you are a business that produces, serves or sells food and you believe you have an infestation of pests you should close the premises immediately and contact us.

If you are a customer of a food premises and believe there is a problem with a pest infestation, please report this to us.


Further information

As a result of the current Covid-19 national emergency, Walsall Council may not be able to provide the service you require and you may need to look for an external contractor.  The following trade organisations have a code of conduct which their members should adhere to when dealing with customers.  These organisations may be able to help you to find a contractor, or assist if any disputes arise:

  • National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA)
  • British Pest Control Association (BPCA)
