Knife bins and bleed control kits

Knife bins

The James Brindley foundation has donated secure knife disposal bins to Walsall Borough, as part of their Safer Streets campaign. Knives and bladed weapons can be safely and anonymously disposed of in the bins. The knife bins are emptied by specialist teams (not the Police) and either ground down to mulch or chopped and recycled.

The are also West Midlands Police weapon surrender bins in Walsall Borough which can be used to securely dispose of a knife, blade or other weapon. Items deposited in the bin are secure until they are removed by professionals.

Bleed control kits

The kits contain products which can help control bleeding until paramedics or emergency services arrive. Bleed control kits are available in several locations around the borough.

Where to find bins and kits

You can view the location of each knife bin or bleed control kit in our map. The blue and white bin icon shows a knife bin, a white cross on a red square shows a bleed control kit. To reveal the name and location of a bin or kit, click or tap on the icon.

You can also search using the hamburger menu (three lines at top left of the map). Click or tap the menu, then enter your postcode. The map will zoom to your location and show you your nearest knife bin or bleed control kit.
