Palfrey Park

The site opened in 1886 and was extended in 1924. It is an open green space in the middle of a residential area. There is a Friends of Palfrey park Group. It has a Green Flag award.

Accessibility

The site has hard, tarmac-surfaced paths. It also has wide access gates that are suitable for wheelchair users, people with mobility impairments and pushchairs. All pathways are at least 1100mm wide, with many 1500 to 2000mm wide to allow for turning. There are many benches placed around the site to allow for rest if required.

Internal and external pavilion doors are wide enough for wheelchair access (at least 750mm). It has a wheelchair accessible toilet (at least 2.2m X 1.5m wide) with an outward opening door, corner layout, grab rails, a higher-level pan (480mm from floor to rim) and is accessible with a right hand transfer. The wash basin includes a lever tap, clothes hooks and an easily accessible emergency pull cord.

Getting to Palfrey Park

Several bus companies run services that will take you near to the park including Diamond and National Express West Midlands. Bus stops are available on Broadway West - bus 637 or Weston Street - buses 4, 4H, 4M and 637.

There is no car park on site. We recommend dropping passengers off at the Dale Street entrance, close to the pavilion.
