George Rose Park

This large green space is ideal for dog walkers, runners and leisure seekers. It has a formal park area with a bandstand and a strip of flat grassland for sporting activities. There is a Friends of George Rose Park Group on facebook.

Facilities and features

The park has 2 wheelchair accessible picnic benches near the play area, as well as a ramp to access the bandstand. Gates to all facilities, such as the play area, multi-use games area, and skatepark are all accessible for wheelchair users, people with mobility impairments and pushchairs.

Accessibility

The park has hard, tarmac-surfaced paths all around the park, with some slight / moderate gradients. All pathways allow for turning (1700mm wide). There are plenty of benches well-spaced along the main paths and at park facilities to allow for rest if required.

To access the park you will need to negotiate K-gate security measures on both access gates. These barriers are 850mm from floor to the bottom of the squeeze plate and squeeze plate is only 580mm wide.

Getting to George Rose Park

Several bus companies run services that will take you near to the park including National Express West Midlands, Thandi Transport and Diamond. Bus stops are available on Wolverhampton Street outside the park entrance - buses number 34 and 700.

There is no car park on site. We recommend dropping passengers off using Wolverhampton Street. There is a pelican crossing directly outside the entrance to the park.
