Day support for adults with social care needs

If you or someone you know has complex social care needs, we can help. The Goscote Centre provides day support, services and activities for adults with:

  • physical disabilities
  • learning disabilities
  • mental health conditions
  • dementia
  • personal care
  • sensory impairments

Contact our Adult Social Care Team if you'd like to attend the Goscote Centre. We'll review your situation and assess whether you're eligible. You may be charged for some services, depending on your financial situation. The Goscote Centre does not provide transport for service users.

The Goscote Centre provides: 

  • outreach reablement resource providing time limited support to promote independence
  • building based opportunities for people with complex needs in a safe, friendly and supportive environment
  • providing links to health related practitioners from within the building base resource
  • making connections with local communities
  • working in partnerships with others
  • enablement skills and work with people in their own home to maximise independence
  • support to develop and deliver transition pathways
  • time limited support to help a person gain confidence and skills for ordinary local life

Activities

Our experienced professionals work with service users and carers. We create a safe and friendly environment that promotes inclusion and independence. We have seven rooms at the Goscote Centre that provide service users with the right level of support for them. Activities at the Goscote Centre include:

  • arts and craft
  • aromatherapy
  • beauty therapy
  • breakfast clubs
  • cooking
  • gardening
  • project work
  • IT
  • music therapy
  • opti-music sensory room
  • relaxation
  • repositioning and exercises
  • storytelling

We also organise external activities, including:

  • bowling
  • library visits
  • swimming
  • shopping trips
  • visiting restaurants and places of interest

Rehabilitation

We take referrals from physiotherapists and doctors for patients with neurological conditions. Our staff create physiotherapy programmes that maintain and improve movement and independence.

Community restaurant

Our trained kitchen staff prepare nutritious meals to cater for all diets, including:

  • vegetarian options
  • soft food options for anyone who has difficulty swallowing or digesting food

Special events and celebrations are also reflected in our meals. Paying customers from the local community are welcome to attend.

Goscote Greenacres

This is the greenbelt land that surrounds the Goscote Centre. It's organised by local residents and in the grounds you can find:

  • 48 plots to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs
  • a woodlands walkway
  • canal-side access for fishing
  • two polly tunnels used to cultivate fruits and vegetables
  • sensory environment
  • a farm shop
  • putting green

The grounds also host community events throughout the year.
