Join the Walsall Junior Ranger Program, a unique 6-week adventure inspired by Forest School principals, where children explore the outdoors, make new friends and lead their own learning journey. Guided by a fully trained Forest School Leader, each session builds confidence, resilience, teamwork, problem solving and helps them develop essential life skills through hands-on activities tailored to your child’s interests

Studio Prints Celebrating the Balakjian Collection
7 November 2025 — 12 April 2026- Free to enter
A major exhibition, featuring artworks acquired for Walsall’s Permanent Collection through the Cultural Gifts Scheme, administered by Arts Council England.
The works come from the archive of London based Studio Prints, which was established by the artist Dorothea Wight (1944-2013) in 1968. Wight, alongside her husband, Marc Balakjian (1938-2017), produced prints for world-renowned British artists for over 40 years.

Impressions Contemporary Printmaking in our Collections

To complement our major exhibition Studio Prints: Celebrating the Balakjian Collection, Come along to view a selection of contemporary prints from our Collections which testify to the breadth and richness of printmaking, across a range of subject matter and techniques.
The exhibition features a limited-edition print created by Hannah Maybank to mark the Gallery’s 25th birthday.

Between Here and There

The New Art Gallery has enjoyed a close working relationship with Walsall College over the years and has provided inspiration for generations of artists developing their artistic practice and careers. Students benefit from the wisdom, advice and experience of their tutors.
For this exhibition, we have turned the spotlight on the tutors as artists, celebrating their creativity, and their dedication in nurturing future talent.
Call for Participants: "Paths You Walk" Photo Shoot
Walsall residents (18+) are invited to feature in a photography shoot celebrating the town’s South Asian, Black, Irish, and migrant heritage. No experience is necessary.
Week commencing 5 January, Butts Area, Walsall Fee: £50 (eligibility applies)
This project is delivered by Reimagining Industrial Migratory Stories CIC and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
