What’s on at Walsall Council's Family Hubs this spring?

There is plenty of family fun and support available at Walsall Council’s Family Hubs this spring.
A wide range of sessions and workshops are being hosted from the council’s four Family Hubs in the borough.
What’s on between April and June 2025?
- Stay and plays 0 – 5 years – Come along with your child or children in a safe and friendly play environment. Meet other parents, share experiences, and participate in interactive activities. Sessions are hosted on both weekdays and weekends, and during half terms.
- Dad groups – Offers a relaxed environment where dads can join and connect with each other to ask questions, share experiences, and form friendships.
- ‘Don’t slam the door’ – Parenting a teenager can be daunting. Learn about the difficulties and complexities of looking after a teen.
- Speech and language drop-in – For questions about speech and language development, come along to a drop-in session for advice and support.
- Feeding support groups – All of our Family Hubs are hosting breastfeeding support groups, facilitated by Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and whg Breastfeeding Peer Supporters. These groups are a space for families to receive help with their breastfeeding journey and meet with other mums to discuss all-things feeding.
- Story time PEEP – Fun, interactive story time sessions with a range of storytelling, sensory toys, and nursery rhymes. A perfect opportunity to spend time with your baby and support their language development.
- Parenting my way – Interactive workshops looking at parents’ experiences and how this can affect parenting styles. Includes discussions about keeping your child safe and looking after yourself, offering support and advice.
- Bump to Baby – Offers the perfect opportunity to meet other parents and join in with activities that focus on a positive start to parenthood.
- Walsall Works drop-in sessions – All of the Family Hubs are hosting drop-in sessions with the Walsall Works team. Any resident in Walsall over the age of 16 can attend to receive practical help with job applications, careers advice, training, and CV writing.
These are just a few examples of the events and sessions that are running at the Family Hubs between April and June 2025.

What are Family Hubs?
Family Hubs offer a welcoming space where families can access advice and support from a range of services. The Hubs have been set up to support families with children aged 0-19, or 0-24 for those children with special educational needs and disabilities.
With teams located in four locality hubs across the borough, a variety of services can be found all under one roof, to provide the families they work with easier access to these services, to provide the right help at the right time.
The four hubs are located at:

• South & Central Family Hub - Birchills Street, Walsall, WS2 8NF
