Walsall welcomes breastfeeding for World Breastfeeding Week 2023

1 to 7 August 2023 marks World Breastfeeding Week. This year’s theme, set by the World Health Organisation is ‘Let’s make breastfeeding and work, work.’
During World Breastfeeding Week, we will be welcoming the Infant Feeding Team to each Family Hub to offer support to families in Walsall.
Families are invited to come along to the Family Hub Breastfeeding Support Groups in the first week of August, where the Infant Feeding team will be available for feeding support. All sessions will be drop-in.
This is the perfect opportunity if you are considering or starting breastfeeding or returning to work as a breastfeeding parent. Older siblings and dads are also welcome.
You will also have the chance to meet other breastfeeding mums and share experiences, as well as access to services about other support available including:
- Parenting support
- How to access NHS Healthy Start
- Free activities

In addition, Family Hubs will be working towards becoming UNICEF Baby Friendly. We will continue to work with Walsall Infant Feeding Team to support families with their feeding journey in Walsall.
