A nursery school in Walsall has received ‘outstanding’ Ofsted judgements in all areas following an inspection last month.

Valley Nursery School in Blakenall provides education for 2–4-year-olds and has been described as a place where children thrive educationally, personally and socially.
In a report published by Ofsted, inspectors commended the nursery’s commitment to living and breathing its ethos of ‘ambition for all’ and details the particular high ambitions and support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
The report details the importance the nursery places on communication and language too, and applauded efforts from staff to have high-quality ‘talk time’ with the children to model and develop language skills.
Inspectors also commented on the opportunities children are offered to experience the wider world. This includes regular trips to local museums and other places which support the children’s learning.
Dawn Kelly, Executive Headteacher at Valley Nursery school said, “The outcome is brilliant. It reflects the hard work and commitment that staff show to the children and families. Our work as a team shines through and we are absolutely delighted.”
“ This is brilliant news for Valley Nursery School and its community.
Not only have they maintained their excellent standards, but the report shows what great lengths the nursery is doing to develop the children personally as well as their learning, by experiencing trips, cultural events and visitors to the nursery as well.
Well done to everybody at Valley Nursery School for this fantastic outcome, keep doing what you’re doing! “
Valley Nursery School is part of the Sandbank & Valley Nursery Schools Federation. A federation allows schools to unite under one governing body, where they can benefit from collaboration and centralise services.
