Walsall to host the borough’s first officially recognised Armed Forces Day event

Published on

Walsall Council is working in partnership with Short Heath Lest We Forget CIC, to deliver the borough’s first celebration event marking Armed Forces Day.

Graphic reads 'Armed Forces Day Sunday 28 June 2026 Walsall Arboretum Extension 11am - 4pm.' It shows a squadron of military soldiers, a young girl having her face painted, two cadets stood with a military vehicle and the Armed Forces Day flag.

On Sunday 28 June 2026, between 11.00am and 4.00pm, the Walsall Arboretum Extension (Broadway North, Walsall, WS1 2QB) will provide the perfect backdrop for a free fun day of celebrations.

“ This year, we are delighted to host Walsall’s first official Armed Forces Day celebration to recognise our local military community across the borough.

“Each year, Armed Forces Day provides a day of national recognition to honour and support the Armed Forces community, including serving troops, veterans, cadets, and their loved ones.

“Working with our partners, we will be providing a free fun day out, fit for all the family, to commemorate this special day. We do hope to see as many people there as possible to join in the celebrations. “

Mayor of Walsall Councillor Alan Fleming QRM
Walsall Council

“ We are proud to be bringing the first official Armed Forces Day event to Walsall, this year.

“We aim to give back to the brave men and women who serve and have served in the armed forces and hope that the people of Walsall will join us for this historic, community-led celebration. “
